I've got, like, 321545 things I want to post about running through my mind.

Back in July, I went to the release party for the Polyphonic Spree's new CD, Together We're Heavy. They had a keg, so I went and stood in line for a beer.

While waiting, I looked at the woman next to me, and thought, "she looks familiar," so I said so.

She looked at me disparagingly, looked away and said, "well, I do live in Dallas."

I replied, "lots of people live in Dallas, you still look familiar."

She didn't respond, and it dawned on me -- she thought I was hitting on her. And she wasn't that hot. I then turned to her, showed her my wedding ring, and said, "I'm happily married, I'm not hitting on you. You look familiar to me."

She then said that she is at the record store we were at alot. I told her it was only my 3rd time there. Then I said that I used to work for Wherehouse Music. She then said, "Oh, that's probably it. I'm the Interscope rep."

Well why the hell didn't you just say so in the first place?!!? No need to be a bitch about it.

As noted below, I can't access my server with my FTP client. That means I can't upload any images to my server. For some reason, I can post via blogger.com's publish feature.

So work is still up in the air. Supposedly the Nameless Merchant at whose copy center I work made their decision last Friday as to which of the three finalists got the contract, us, or one of the other two companies (both of whom I used to work for). Well, here it is, Tuesday night, and we still haven't been told. And by we, I mean the people who are actually working in the copy center. Well, it's out of my control, so I guess I'll just have to wait.

Back when I was a senior in HS, I was a National Merit Finalist, and was awarded a National Merit Scholarship. I was my HS's first ever NM Scholar. Because of this, the local paper came and interviewed me one day in February.

The only quiet place available was the Principal's office. He had windows that began about 2' above the floor.

When the reporter asked me why I chose a school in Florida, I looked out the windows at the snow drifts that were 2' above the bottom of the window (that makes for 4' snowdrifts in case you aren't keeping track) and said:

"Frankly, it's warmer there. No, seriously, it's a good school, it's the Honors College for the State of Florida System."

In the paper, she quoted me as saying, "Frankly, it's warmer there."

Made me look shallow as hell.

Of course, truth be told, I didn't consider any schools north of the Mason-Dixon line.

So what did I learn from this experience? Don't say anything you don't want repeated. And never trust the media to tell the whole story.

Well, that's all for now, I've gotta head off to bed.

I'll post the other 321541 things later.
