I got to drive on the sidewalk last night
Cynthia and I did some window shopping and got groceries last night. When we got home, there was a cop standing in the street at the intersection, and we could see a semi blocking our driveway. I lowered the window and pointed at our driveway and told the cop that we live there. He suggested parking at the corner, that he'd watch our car until it was clear and we could get in. I told him we have groceries to bring up. He had no response. I then expressed that it really would have been nice if the people responsible had informed us ahead of time that we'd lose access to our driveway. He apologized, even though it wasn't his fault. I asked if he knew who I could direct my complaint. He wasn't sure if a foreman was at the work site anymore or not. I told him that I didn't mean right now, just in general. He thought for a while, and just as I was about to go park, he said that he'd direct me down the sidewalk, since he'd done that for another resident. I said sure, and followed him. It was weird driving up the handicap ramp in the corner and going past the restaurant windows, with parking meters on my left.
