I've been meaning to post about piercings for a while now, and now is the time.

If you check the list of links to the right, you'll see a link to a piercing forum. From that, you might have guessed (if you don't know me IRL), that I have at least one piercing. You'd be correct. In fact, I used to have a total of 5. I'm now down to one.

My first piercing was my left earlobe. I got it done at the Piercing Pagoda in a mall in Sarasota, Florida on the day after Thanksgiving, 1986. I had been thinking of getting it done for a while, and that was the day I decided to do it.

My second piercing was my left nipple. Again, I had been considering it for a while, and just went and got it done. The shop I went to is Obscurities in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas. It's where all of my piercings have been done (except that initial earlobe). I had it done back in the Fall of 1995.

About 6 months later, I felt "out of balance" and went back and got the right nipple done.

Over time, I increased the guage of the rings from the initial 16g up to 10g.

On Sunday, March 19, 2000, I went back and had my 4th piercing done. I got what's known as a Prince Albert, or PA. I started out with a 10g Captive Bead Ring, and have since stretched up to a 4g Curved Barbell.

On Friday, August 25, 2000 I got my right earlobe pierced.

In March of 2003, I removed both nipple rings, because they were migrating out (think split nipple). I let them heal until December 2003. I got them repierced with 12g barbells. They were good until I switched them for 12g Captive Bead Rings in the Spring of 2005 (I prefer rings instead of barbells, they just feel nicer to me). Within a couple of months of switching, they started to migrate again, so I took them out.

In late-Summer/early-Fall of 2004, I took out my earrings for work. I had intended on getting Circular Barbells for them to make it easier to take them in and out, but never got around to it.

So I'm now down to just the PA. I still have a desire to get my ears pierced, but my work will not go for it.
