So, what's your major?
I found this on Utopia's blog:
| You scored as Mathematics. You should be a Math major! Like Pythagoras, you are analytical, rational, and when are always ready to tackle the problem head-on! |
What is your Perfect Major?
created with QuizFarm.com
The funny thing is, when I first went to college, I was a Math major. Then one day, I was sitting in Calculus and I realized that, while I enjoyed working with math, I couldn't possibly care less how or why it works, I'm just happy that it does. Give me a formula and some numbers to plug in and I'm happy.
The next major I declared was Mechanical Design Technology.
Then I declared as a double major by adding English.
Then I dropped Mechanical Design, going with English only.
Then I switched to Occupational Training and Development.
When I return to school in the next year or so, I'll be majoring in Business, mainly because it's one of the few majors that my employer will pay my tuition to get. I also understand that what I have a degree in is not as important as actually having a degree. At least it's that way in any field I'll be going into. Hell, my wife has hers in American History (after the Civil War), and she's a Reporting Analyst for a Big German Company. Yeah, she's really putting that degree to work. The more I think about it, with the exception of doctors, lawyers and engineers, I know of few people who are using their degrees at work. My dad majored in English, and has a lifetime teacher's certificate in Wisconsin, and he worked for the State as a Disability Adjudicator for 16 years before retiring. My younger brother has a degree in Illustration, and he's a manager in the Marketing department for the Cartoon Network. My older brother has an Associates in Molecular Biology (I think, it's something medical), and he's an Apprentice Electrician. My mom double majored in English and Theater, with a teacher's certification, and works for the County Housing Authority. She only taught school for about a semester.
