Slow days at work kinda suck.

Yesterday, GN called in sick with Poison Ivy, and ES was going to call in sick, but heard that GN was out, so he came in. BC set it up for us to have TR as a relief person, which kinda helped in that neither ES nor I had to do the pick up/delivery runs.

This morning, I got here at 8:45, because ES was going to be in late. We already knew that TR was going to be filling in for GN again, and that he'd be here at 8:30. When I came down the hall and saw TR standing outside the shop door with his bag I figured he hadn't picked up the key, so I went back up to Security to get it. They said that no one turned it in last night. Well, I was the one who locked up last night, and I distinctly remember turning it in because I commented to my self how I was the one who signed out the key that morning. At that point, BC called to see if I had the key. I told her that I didn't, and she recommended that I go home and check, just to be sure. On my way out, I asked the security guy to look around that area to make sure it didn't drop down somewhere. I went home (a 5 minute walk), looked around the loft and didn't find it. I did grab a wire coat hanger to see if I could use it to "gain access" to the shop. As I came through the entrance at work, I saw the key on the Security desk. The guard told me that someone had grabbed it by mistake.

ES was supposed to be here around 11:30. He called around noon to say he'd be later, that his Dr. appointment was taking longer than expected. He called again at 2:30 to see if I thought we needed him here. I told him that it was slow, and to stay home, that I'd see him tomorrow. BC called about 20 minutes later to say that ES wouldn't be in this afternoon, but he'd be in tomorrow. She also said she was waiting to hear from GN to see if he was going to be in tomorrow, because she needed TR to fill in elsewhere. She asked if ES & I could handle it here tomorrow, and I assured her we could.

Other than the odd small job here and there, it's been fairly dead the last two days. I hate it because I feel guilty that I'm not being productive. I love it because it gives me time to sit on the computer and surf the internets.
