Well, I found out yesterday afternoon that I'm not getting the one job I was really hoping I'd get, Production Specialist at Datamax. It looked so good, I'd had a phone interview, followed by an in-person interview, followed by a "personality survey." I figured the interviews went well since they were going to spend the money on a survey for me. A couple of weeks later, I got a call from the Production Manager wanting to set up another interview. I went in and the HR manager was there, too. She asked me some questions about the results of my survey, then she left. The PM then interviewed me. This one was a little odd, because he'd never let me fully finish answering a question. At the end of it, he showed me the floor plan of where they're moving to, and then showed me their current setup. I figured he wouldn't have wasted the time to show me that stuff if he didn't like me as a candidate. Well, 1.5 weeks later, I finally call the HR manager to find out what is up with my applicant status. I left a message on her voice mail. Finally, towards the end of the day, I emailed her, asking again. This was her response:
Dear Dan:

We appreciate the time you have taken to interview for the Production Specialist position at DATAMAX of Texas.

After careful review, we have selected to continue the interview process with individuals whose qualifications are more suited to our needs. However, we will keep your resume on file for future consideration.

Thank you again for your interest in DATAMAX of Texas, and we wish you the best of luck in your career search.

Sincerely,

DATAMAX of Texas

Looks like a form response to me.

So anyway, earlier this week I got a phone call from the Recruiter for Pitney-Bowes. We got disconnected before I could actually talk to him, so I kept trying to call him back, and finally got ahold of him yesterday. We arranged for a phone interview this afternoon. We spoke for about 20-30 minutes, and he then set up an in-person interview with the manager of a litigation location where they had a Lead position open. So I go in tomorrow morning at 9:30 for that.

Well, Cynthia should be home soon, we're going out to get my hair cut, drop off my Doc Marten's to be refurbished, and maybe pick up some new shoes. And we'll eat dinner at Taco Bell (or someplace else cheap).

I'm really tired of not working. It stresses out Cynthia way too much, and frustrates us so that we get short with each other.
