One more birthday down.
Today was my birthday.
I took the day off from work, and pretty much did nothing. I got up at 8am when Cynthia went to work. I spent the morning surfing the internet. Around noon I started working on my Mango Radio show that aired this evening. Work called 3 times asking questions that either they could have figured out themselves or could have waited until tomorrow. I talked to my dad for a half-hour. I did do a load of dishes, so that was somewhat productive, but I still need to do laundry in the morning. I got the show done and uploaded an hour early, but screwed it up so it started an hour late. I'd have caught it, but we went out for dinner, so I wasn't home.
We were going to eat at home, but I decided while showering this afternoon that we should go out. Cynthia wanted to go to Pappadeaux, because they had a half-price special going. We called to find out the wait, and learned it was about an hour and a half, so that was out. I then suggested Macaroni Grill. Cynthia called and learned the wait was 20 minutes. She tried to get us on the list, but they don't do that anymore. I called and tried to make reservations for 20 minutes later, but they wouldn't do it. They said the earliest reservation was 30-45 minutes later. I tried to explain that I could get there and walk in w/o reservation and be seated quicker than that with a 20 minute wait, but that I didn't want to wait 20 minutes. They wouldn't budge, so we chose to take our business elsewhere. We decided to try Houston's. As we were passing Macaroni Grill, I changed my mind, and we decided on Pei Wei instead. It turned out to be a good idea. We were in and out in 30 minutes, the food was great, the price was right, and we didn't have to tip. We made it home right at 9pm, just in time to watch Boston Legal (and learn that my show was starting late, thanks, Jeckles, for fixing it).
It was a good day. Just relaxing enough.
