Moron Boy: So if the Fiscal Year ended at the end of July, when did it begin?
me: August first.
MB (a little testy): No, I know when the new one starts, when did the old one start?
me (a little slower, so it'll have time to sink in): August first.
MB (very testy): I know the new one starts today, when did the last fiscal year start?
me: August first, last year.
MB (still testy): So it's a year, then?
me: Yes.
