It was my birthday.
Monday was my birthday. I don't ever make a big deal about my birthday. It's not that I don't like getting old or anything like that. Really. I don't mind getting older. People think I am younger than I really am, so I figure getting older is no big deal.
Since we hadn't been out of town in quite a while (Thanksgiving), and hadn't seen my mother-in-law in a while (Thanksgiving), we decided to go visit her in Van Buren, AR for the weekend. On our way out of town, we stopped by the Cingular store and upgraded my phone for my birthday (more about that later). We ended up leaving Dallas around 8pm, and arrived in Van Buren around 1am. We were both exhausted, but Cynthia decided to stay up chatting with her mom until after 3am.
We all slept until about 11am Saturday. We drove around Ft. Smith for a while that afternoon and did some shopping. Sally bought me a car charger and ear piece for my new phone for my birthday. We took her to McDonald's for lunch. When we got home, Cynthia cooked a pseudo-macrobiotic dinner for us. I ended up watching TV all night, and watched a couple of movies on SciFi: Imposter, starring Gary Sinise; and Alien Siege, starring Brad Johnson. Imposter wasn't too bad. It had its moments. Alien Siege sucked large donkey cock. I should have gone to bed at Midnight, when Imposter ended.
Sunday was spent watching a marathon of Faking It on TLC. We drove home and arrived at Midnight.
The phone I upgraded to for my birthday is an LG L1400.

I've taken a few pics with it, and it does pretty decently, for a phone camera. Scroll down for an example. The only drawback I've found so far is that I have to email the pics to myself to get them off the phone. At $.25 per pic. And possibly $.10-$.03 per kb. If it turns out I'm using the camera a lot, it might be worth it to add a package to our account to allow me to get a better transfer rate. I'd also like to pick up a data cable for it and get the pics off that way. So far I'm very happy with it. One cool thing about the camera is that it's on the front of the phone, so if I want to take a self-portrait, I can take the pic with the phone closed, and frame myself on the little screen on the front. A guy at work noticed that, when it's in camera mode and open, the subject of the photo can't tell by looking at the phone that you're using the camera (unlike his that says "camera" on the little screen that the subject can see).
