Breathing and a good night's rest.

I have allergies. Prior to moving to Texas, I didn't have any. Well, I may have had them, they just didn't manifest themselves until after I'd moved here.

Anyway, about 10 years ago I figured out that I wasn't sleeping well because I couldn't breathe well. I went to the doctor, and got a prescription for something that helped a bit.

Over the years I've tried a wide variety of products to help keep my nasal passages open at night. A few months ago I finally found a good combination: 12-hour pseudoephedrine & a Breathe Right nasal strip.

I used my last dose of 12-hour pseudoephedrine Wednesday night. I had to take a 4-hour dose last night. I woke up later & took another dose.

Monday I went to bed at 3am, and awoke at 7:30am.
Tuesday I went to bed at 1:30am, and awoke at 6am.
Wednesday I went to bed at 1am, and awoke at 7:30am.
Thursday I went to bed at 11:30pm, and awoke at 7:30am.

Of those 4 nights, which night do you suppose I got the worst rest?

If you guessed Thursday, you'd be correct. I actually felt more refreshed after each night of 4.5 hours of sleep than I did this morning after 8 hours. I could barely breathe when I awoke.

It's amazing how much affect clogged nasal passages have on the quality of sleep I get.
