I'm testing Expression Engine

I got (almost) all of my Blogger posts imported yesterday. Some of the very old ones wouldn’t export/import for some reason, but I’m not too worried about that. I’ll be republishing my old blog to a different address, just to be safe, but intend on fully using this Expression Engine for now.

Another unfortunate consequence of the process is the fact that I wasn’t able to export/import any comments. That’s another reason for keeping the Blogger posts around.

I also have to find a template that I like.

It's located here.

Comments:
That looks like a pretty powerful content management system - how hard was it to install?

It was actually very easy.

Download files from their server
Upload files to my server
Create MySQL database
Run install function on my server, telling it where the files it asked for were, the database name, my logins & passwords.

The hard part was "exporting" my Blogger posts in a format that EE can read. I essentially had to reformat them for MovableType, then import that format to EE.

Webhost transfer is complete.

I'm going to be working on moving my blog to a different blogging tool, not sure which one as of yet. When I get it figured out, I'll hopefully migrate everything to it.

monoradio live tonight

Since last week's show went as well as it did, I'm going live again tonight.

Tune in to monogodo on Mango Radio from 7 - 9pm CST tonight.

Comments:
dan- I listened to your show, and I'll refrain from making any comments about the quality of it. But I do have to say that I find it incredibly rude and insensitive to call my fiance a dipshit. Especially when we've considered you and your wife friends--not mere acquaintances. We actually sent you two invitations to our wedding, and now I regret sending them. Now that I've called you out, you'll probably say you weren't planning on coming to our ceremony anyway, but I just wanted to clarify that you're not welcome by me.

There, talk about that on your radio show. And maybe go ahead and print it out so that you won't be tempted to stammer and say "umm.. anyway..."

p.s. I know you'll delete this so that your "better" friends won't see, but I do hope your wife reads every word and remembers it the next time she complains about her social life.

I'll have to listen to it again, as I don't recall what you're referring to.

As for our relationship, this isn't the time nor place to discuss it.

And we are planning on attending your wedding. I'm sorry that you don't feel we're welcome, but that's your prerogative.

And for future reference, my email works just fine for comments like this.
